Health is about paying attention...

I don't want to imply that great health has to involve a whole lot of thinking. Otherwise, it wouldn't be brainless. But it does require paying attention. Stopping from time to time. Looking around. For example, I was about to roll up my chicken salad into a tortilla - which I love to do! But before I did, I remembered that we had big romaine lettuce leafs in the fridge and so I substituted the tortilla for the lettuce. I love lettuce so it wasn't even a sacrifice in taste! It was brainless. I simply needed something to 'hold' my chicken salad together. It was that simple pause in the action that made all of the difference. Conversely, later that same night, I saw the M&M jar and just plowed my hand into it and gorged on the candy without even pausing. You see, paying attention to what you are doing is pretty brainless. You do it when you drive and when you shop and when you dress for work or school. You just stop for a second and consider the options before taking action. Try it. You'll like it. I promise!
